John is available for performances in the Costa Blanca area and further afield with notice. John is able to perform in a number of styles and genres.
John has most of the main oratorio or are choral work solos in his repertoire. Over his long musical career he has soloed for many choral societies and music groups in Bothe the UK and Spain. If you are looking for a bass soloist for your groups performance please contact John with more information.
John is able to perform either a full concert of solo song or a segment of a concert. John has specialised in his career in 20th Century English song and loves performing the music of composer like Gerald Finzi, John Ireland and Ralph Vaughan Williams. However, John has been trained in German Lieder and French and Italian Song and is more than happy to put together a concert in these genres including song cycles and songs by Schubert, Wolf, Brahms, Fauré and Poulenc.
In the past John has performed in both Opera and Operetta focussing on productions of Mozart Opera and Gilbert and Sullivan operetta.
John has both appeared on stage and musically directed musicals. In directing performances he would also take charge of the orchestras and conduct the performances.
John currently conducts a number of musical groups but is available to act as either a guest conductor for one off performances or to take on training new vocal groups.
TEACHINGVocal and Voice Training
Potential students would be invited to an initial consultation lesson during which an assessment of their voice would be made and a discussion of what they would be looking to achieve.
Student can be working towards exams, preparing for auditions for courses, preparing for performances or just want to sing to have fun.
Lessons can be given in person or online.
For students in the Calpe area John teaches at Marcia’s Dance Centre. Lessons can also be arrange in Benidorm or Alicante. Visits to students houses for lessons can also be arranged.
